Why this project?

Next steps.

European Ultimate is booming, but the EUF Gender Equality Survey 2019 found that the growth in number of female Ultimate athletes was not comparable to the growth in numbers of male athletes. It is beneficial across the sport to have an equitable number of players. We endeavoured to find a distribution of partners across Europe who had experience in the space of gender equity, and are very excited to work with the national federations of Ireland, France, Finland, and the club CUSB. The aim of this manual is to empower sports coaches, with an emphasis on the sport of Ultimate, but where we hope our best-practices can benefit coaches in other sports and professions as well.

It is the mission of the EUGEM team to identify coaching best-practices. The project is broken down into phases, and we are currently focused on building a gender equity tool for coaches to help them assess their current gender-equity. Once we have built that tool, we will research and write the first draft of EUGEM. Following that, our partners will test-drive the manual so we can assess if there are any gaps or if we need to refine any aspects of our manual. You can see the EUGEM team members below. However, this manual is for all, and we will look to incorporate best practices across the sport. Anyone wanting to share their insights, please do get in touch! This is your manual.
