Lets have greater gender equity in Ultimate, both on and off the field. In order to get there, we all need to take steps to create a more inclusive environment for athletes. The end result will positively impact all of the Ultimate community, and is a win-win. As a step towards this goal, the European Ultimate Gender Equity Manual (EUGEM) project is pulling together coaching best practices in recruiting, training and retaining female athletes. If you are reading this, and are interested in improving this space, then welcome to the team!
THE PROJECT The European Ultimate Federation is excited to launch this Erasmus+ funded project, the European Ultimate Gender Equity Manual. Be it in the sport of Ultimate, or beyond, having gender equity coaching best practices can help shape the environment to be more inclusive. Interested? Sceptical? Want to find out more? Then please do read on and get in touch to see how you can be a part of this process.
Ultimate as a sport has been growing in Europe since the 1970s, and participation has grown to the point where there is the need for more qualified coaches. We want to help ensure that those coaches can be equipped with best practices to recruit, train and retain female athletes. Why? Because that will help our sport grow overall, and that benefits anyone playing the sport of Ultimate. That is what this Erasmus+ project sets out to achieve.
