Support the development of your women's team leaders and coaches.

The development of women-matching players, their teams and coaches can and should be aided in many different ways. Women are often  socialised and pressured into taking on the majority of caring roles within their lives, such as childcare and household work, on top of their other  professional commitments. As a result, women often experience burnout as their time and energy are spread thinly across their responsibilities.  Moreover, this can mean that fewer women can commit to training and coaching in sports. For these reasons, women matching players need to  be supported and provided with resources to enable them to contribute to the Ultimate community. These effects can be seen in the financial  resources that can be given, the time commitment that might be available as well as the roles on a team. Be aware of the caring role on your  team and don’t automatically assume that it should be done by a woman matching player.

These issues make it much more challenging for women to follow the pathway from player to coach

As an association that wants to increase the number of qualified coaches and women matching leaders, you should support the development of  these players and coaches from a financial and resourceful point of view. This will ensure that finances aren't the barrier to more women  matching players and coaches joining your team.

Additionally, you could run training programmes and networking events and seminars online so that anyone with access to the internet can attend  at their convenience. These can be low commitment events to not add to the strain on time and resources, but this will be a step towards greater  participation of women's matching players and coaches.

Consider investing in a good coach for the women's team and mentors for women matching leaders.

If possible, support women matching leaders to attend coaching seminars.

Consider giving higher financial support to the women's team in their season highlights and have a reduced fee for women matching players in  your tournaments.
