Body Surveillance
Body surveillance, which Chesnee Daye et al define as the "constant monitoring of one's body and being preoccupied with worry over how one's body appears in the eyes of others".
Forbes adds "The female body is constructed as an object to be viewed by others, particularly by men. Just as others view and evaluate a woman's body or body parts as objects, women learn to view their own body as an object that must be constantly monitored to ensure that it conforms to internalized cultural standards"
